Introducing Jen

Hi there friends! My name is Jen Pitta and I am a brand new design team member for Stylin' Stampin' Inkspiration. I was so very honored to be asked to participate!

I have been a Stampin' Up demonstrator for 11 years and can't imagine my life without it. I actually joined to get the discount on supplies for my wedding invitations and I've never looked back! Me and hubby live in Harwich Port, Ma on beautiful Cape Cod.

Here's some pictures of those long-ago wedding invites (using the former Bashful Blue color!):

The look of the invitation was pretty simple, but hand-cutting and scoring 135 invitations was quite a feat for a new stamper! But I'm so happy I did it... even 11 years later I still love them (which is surprising because I can't say that about many of my very first cards or scrapbook pages!)

And because you can't talk about a wedding without a photo, here is me and hubby on our Wedding day:

And just because that was 11 years ago, here is a more recent photo of us from the Stampin' Up incentive trip last year.

Matt is a News Director for a locally owned group of radio stations here on Cape Cod. We met working at the same radio station 17 years ago (I was a print and radio news reporter for over 13 years). For the past 6 years, though, up until this last October, I was the Public Relations Specialist for the Cape Symphony. But I am so very blessed that I was able to take the leap last October and become a full-time Stampin' Up demonstrator!

I'm having so much fun and so excited to share some creations with you today. When I first started with Stampin' Up I was a big scrapbooker and I still love scrapbooking so I thought I'd share some recent pages. It uses the beautiful new Falling in Love suite of products in the Occasions catalog and will be perfect for some anniversary photos later this year!

I thought I'd leave you with a couple of tips for scrapbooking with stamps. I love how my stamps... and more specifically the amazing color coordination of Stampin' Up products... can make my scrapbooking so easy!

Tip #1: Select a "suite" of products to work with to make scrappin' easy.
I selected the Falling in Love suite from pages 50-52 in the new Stampin' Up occasions catalog for my pages. What I love about this is it gives you your color scheme and all the potential products you could need to finish your projects: cardstock, matching embellishments, stamps that coordinate, cutting tools (like the So detailed dies) and embossing options. The best part is you know it will all work together because they were designed to do that!

Tip #2: Use all your stamps. I challenge myself to use ONE stamp set on a layout. What can you use as a background image? Are there any sentiments in the stamp set you could use as a title? What could you use to create a custom embellishment (in the exact colors you need!)? You can see on this page that I used both the large and small dandelion image from the Falling for You set as a background stamp. I fussy cut the flower images to create my own embellishment and I used the "Every heart needs one special person to love" as my title for the page.

Tip #3: Create a triangle of elements to draw the eye around your page. If you look in the top photo you may notice that the title element, the journaling and heart embossed cardstock and the little banner embellishment at the top create a visual triangle on the page. This is a common design trick to make sure the viewer's eye is drawn across all your photos. Try it on your next page -- it really works!

That's all for me today... thank you so much for spending some time with me! I hope you'll visit me on my blog as well, and I can't wait to share some more Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration here for the next six months!

xoxo,
Jen
