Masking Fun

Masking is fun... (and easy)...
Hey everyone!  It's Pam over at Stampin' in the Sun!  I have a fun new technique for you called "Masking".  Unlike the name, it doesn't require masking tape!  :)  For this first card you are going to need some ink, sponges (I used clothespins to hold the sponges), along with a die cut or framelit.  I cut out the design I liked (on the right) and then placed the "negative" version on top of my card stock.

I then sponged the two colors into the blank area.  Having a "mask" that is much wider makes sure that you don't get ink onto another part of your creation!

Here's my completed card - how easy was that?  Just as easy as it seemed!

Another new product from Stampin' Up! is the masks and they are CHEAP!  This one is the stars (it comes in a package with hearts and stars).  I used the Crushed Curry ink and a sponge dauber to sponge on the ink.  How fun is this?

Here's my completed card with stars and sentiment!

Finally I made a card similar to the first one, however I cut the "negative image" from the front of the card.

As you can see below, I cut the "window" and then sponged on the inside of the card!  I used three colors : Crushed Curry, Island Indigo and Sahara Sand.  The colors blended together but that's okay, it's supposed to look artistic and "beach" like.
