Firework Technique with Cynthia

Good morning, this is Cynthia with Ink a Doodle Creations!  Today I am sharing a new, fun and super easy technique.  I call it, "firework technique"!  The best part is, it can be created with an every day household tool.... not just for your everyday cleaning!!!  A few of my pictures are missing.  I was having a little trouble (I got finger happy) and accidently deleted a couple of my tutorial photos, instead of sharing them.  I tried to stop, but once my brain told my fingers to hit the "delete" button, there was no stopping the signal!  Luckily, the most important ones made it.  Whew...

This is my finished project card using the "firework technique", now read on to see how I did it...

So when I went grocery shopping this past weekend, I was in the cleaning department and came across this dish brush, Of course it looked fun, not to clean with, but to create with.  To me it looked like a bursting firework, so I threw it into my cart and moved on.

For my fireworks I chose to use colors of real red and pacific point.  I pulled my re-inker bottles and squeezed a little on foam plate.  I dipped the brush into the red ink first and on my 3" square of whisper white, I just stamped with it.

This is what the first layer looks like when done.  You can stamp lightly or even more than what I have done if you want.

Next, I rinsed it well with running water to get all the red ink off, then I did the next color of blue.

On the front of the card, I wanted a bursting firework in the upper and lower corners, so directly right on my card base, I stamped two fireworks.

The star shapes are created using the new "stars" framelit set.  I cut out one large one in pacific card stock and cut out the center with a smaller star.  I had originally thought of using the red glitter star behind the blue one, but changed my mind and decided to go with two small ones off to the sides.  I cut out the 3" stamped firework with a medium sized star and attached it behind the blue star.  Now you could turn this into a shaker pocket if you wanted, but I passed on this card, and just used the stamped firework.

On the inside, I stamped a firework again with the dish brush and added a couple of cut out stars.

I finished up with wrapping making a knot with the silver ribbon on the blue star.  I also created a banner sentiment of happy birthday and attached it to the blue star as well.

I hope you have enjoyed my fun "firework technique".  I hope it has INKspired you to go try it.

  1. I love this! Only a stamper could come up with a way to use a kitchen tool to make a card :p
Gonna have to try this technique :)

  2. So, I guess the "soap dispensing" part of the dish brush is extraneous?
