B.Y.O.P. ~ Gift Card Holders

Good Morning Happy Stampers!!

Thanks for poppin in and getting Inkspired today.

Gift cards:
Love? or despise?

Love:  I love them because sometimes, it is so much easier than choosing something extremely personal or when you're giving the gift of a food or restaurant.
Despise: Because I KNOW! I could buy way more stuff in that store for $25 if you just let me buy stuff for you instead of a gift card!!  I know you, so trust me....

Okay so maybe I have a few issues.  Good thing our Design Team has some super AWESOME! ways to put a personal touch on those gift cards.
No reason we need to hand them over in an un-personalized envelope with no flair?!  We're craftier than that!  And we love you enough to decorate that gift card in STYLE! :)

Have an amazing gift card holder that you've made and want to share with us?  Add your link in the comments below!  We'd love to be Inkspired by you!

Quick & Easy Gift Card Holder

Hi! Darcy here from Dj's Stampin' Place. Today I created a gift card holder that is quick to make and saves you from having to say, "here's a gift card;" while just handing them a piece of plastic.

Do you want to see the inside?

I'm making these for college students, so I wanted to keep it simple, and not too time consuming because I'm certain the only important piece to them is the actual gift card! I felt that Gorgeous Grunge was the perfect stamp set to use as a background. I did some tone-on-tone stamping with the Tangerine Tango ink. I left the spot next to the thank you stamp blank so I could sign my name.

I created a tutorial, so you can create these as well. You will want to start with a 4-1/4" x 8-1/4" piece of cardstock. Score it at 1-3/8", 2-3/4", and 5-1/2".

After I scored it, I flipped it to the backside, and lined my gift card up along the 1-3/8" score line. I used a pen to mark the edges of the gift card, so I would know where to cut the slit. I then placed the score line along the groove of my paper trimmer, and lined the cutting blade up with the first pen mark and carefully cut down to my other pen mark.

Next I put sticky strip along the very bottom and edges of this flap to glue it together. The reason I put it along the edges was to make sure my gift card would have room to slip inside.

Here is a side view once I glued the flap down.

The great thing about these is that you can make them as clean and simple, or as embellished as you want. They would look great with Designer Series paper layered on them as well!

Easy Gift Card Holder by Jenn Campbell

Hello everyone, Jenn Campbell here to teach you how to make this easy gift card holder!

I love when I can give a gift card right inside a regular size card!
I am going to tell you how to make this easy gift card holder today!

Directions:

1. Cut 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" sheet of Soft Suede (back piece)

2. Cut Very Vanilla to 5 1/4" x 8"

3. Score in half at 4" and then again at 2"

4. Fold on the 2" and 4" mark

5. Use Word Window punch to punch a slot along the 2" edge of the Very Vanilla.  You will need to punch about 3 times to get a long enough area to fit gift card.
Tip- I pushed my punch in as far as it goes to keep it straight!

6. Use double sided tape along the edge to seal the end of the piece inside to meet the center.

7. Adhere to back sheet of Soft Suede.

8. Embellish as you wish!

Tip- To create the coffee cup ring- I dipped one of our embellishment cases into my ink pad and stamped with the case!
