Hello! this is Shellie from
Craft Smashup. I know many of you are wishing for warmer weather and maybe sunnier days and that inspired me to create something colorful and bright for my post today. What is more colorful than a rainbow? Not much :)
The technique that I developed here I call Faux Enamel. It was inspired by some enameled jewelry pieces I saw awhile back. Faberge Eggs are also enameled. I was hoping to have a tutorial written to share with you all but I ran out of time. I'm hoping to be able to pull together a tutorial with pictures over the weekend. You will be able to check it out on my blog sometime next week.
The supplies you will need for the Faux Enamel Technique are:
Re-inkers, Silver or Gold encore Ink (or Versamark), Crystal Effects, Heat tool. Embossing folder with an enclosed design.
Most, if not all of us have seen the masking tape technique that I used on this card. I couldn't think of anything more perfect to make the rainbow stripes for the background of this card. It's so easy to do and in the case of this card packs a lot of punch. Because of the colorful background it didn't need a lot to finish it so I used markers to ink the sentiment to mimic the background. A little touch of ribbon and some bling and there you have it, a bright (and happy) card.
I hope you have a bright and beautiful day. Happy Stamping!
