Christmas is only a few more days away. Are you ready?
My family is getting ready to move into our new house sometime between now and New Year's but in the meantime there are 4 adult sized people and a cat living in a 150 square foot RV trailer. It actually hasn't been horrible.
Since I haven't been sure until just yesterday whether we would be in the new house before Christmas or not I had been debating just how many and what kind of decorations I wanted to make to decorate our little space.
I did know that whatever I decided that the decorations had to be functional as well as decorative. I have crocheted a couple of red and white potholders and we strung candy canes and they are hanging banner-like in a couple of places in the RV. I decided as a final touch, to make a felt runner to put on our little 2-person table. On Christmas Eve our little table is going to turn into the Christmas tree and all of our presents are going to be under it. I will be sure to share photos on my regular blog Craft Smashup
Did you know that Stampin' Up!'s embossing folders will emboss felt? Well, they do! I used the Chevron Folder on the red circles. I didn't heat set them or anything (I haven't figured out a way to do that yet) so I'm not sure how long the texture will last but for now it looks pretty cool.
I used the largest non-scalloped circle from the Circle Framelits to cut all the circles. Each circle is glued to the green felt backing with the Tombow Multi glue. If I had the time or patience I could have stitched the circles to the backing and made it really snazzy and long lasting but for a quick & simple decoration I used glue this time.
Here is a larger view. After I glued the circles on I trimmed the green felt away from the outer edges to help emphasize the circles. Right now you see the Silver Glimmer Paper snowflakes resting on the white circles. I, of course, used the Festive Flurry Framelits . They are not yet attached because I'm not sure whether I want paper snowflakes on my fabric runner. I might just make a stencil and use fabric glue and glitter to get the same effect.
I encourage you to experiment with your Stampin Up supplies. There's no rule that says you have to use paper crafting supplies just on paper :)
I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

What a fun idea Shellie!! I never would have though to try embossing felt, but now I've gotta try it!
