Petite Purse Bigz Die -- dressed up for Halloween!

Hi Stampers!! It's Heidi Boos from Stuck on Stampin' and I have a simple Halloween treat holder to share with you today! With my busy schedule lately, instead of trying to create a little treat container all on my own, this time around I reached for my Petite Purse Bigz L Die to help do the trick! As Halloween approaches, I like to have little treats within my reach so I am ready to go to give as gifts to teachers, neighbors, friends, and family. I have used this little purse die in the past and it has made treat packaging a breeze!

I cut a template from thin cardboard that would cover the front and traced onto my choice of DSP (Witches' Brew from the Holiday Catalog).

I die cut the purse die out of Basic Black cardstock along with the piece for the front.

I wanted my purse to have an open top, so I trimmed off the top flap.

I then adhered the DSP piece to the front of  the purse.

 

I thought it would be fun for the candy to "peek through" on the front. I wanted to make sure I had the hole centered just right, so I punched out a 1-1/4" circle onto scrap paper and then adhered to the front where I wanted the hole to be.

 

Before assembling the purse, I punched out the circle.

And, here's the hole...perfect placement!

 

I embellished it very simply with the Halloween Hello stamp set ("it's all about the candy"), 1" circle punch, and 1-1/4" scallop circle punch using Pumpkin Pie ink and cardstock. 

To help fill the bags easily with candy I placed the 4x6 cello bags into the purse before filling. This way it filled up the bag to take the shape of the container.

For the bow around the bag, I actually took the 1-1/4" Pumpkin Pie chevron ribbon and cut it in half since I wanted the ribbon to be thinner.

 By the way...have you tried the new "Candy Corn" M & M's?! These are the candies I used for today's project.
