Hello everyone! I'm Tobe and I have been a paper crafter for almost 10 years. I started with traditional scrapbooking and eventually added greeting cards, pocket pages scrapbooking, and memory planning into my routine. I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband and four boys (15, 15, 5, and 2).
The beautiful views around our area!
In just a few weeks (two actually), we are leaving sunny California and moving back to Omaha, Nebraska. My husband and I are actually from Indiana, but have both lived in Nebraska. We are looking forward to a cheaper cost of living and reconnecting with friends in the area. This week is all about getting in a few activities before we leave. Our latest adventure was taking the ferry to San Francisco.
I currently stay at home and take care of the kiddos, but in a previous life I was a high school social studies teacher and later a project manager. Hopefully the move will allow for me to explore returning to one of those professions or trying something new. My husband is encouraging me to open my own party planning business. I really get into our family parties and he thinks it would be a great outlet for my organizational skills. Every year, I throw a huge Pinterest worthy birthday party for the two little kids. This year's theme was Mad Scientist. We dressed as scientists and did some experiments.
When I'm not in the midst of moving, you can find me indulging in my hobbies. My biggest hobby is definitely reading. 2018 has been a great reading year. I'm up to 158 books read so far this year (a personal record!). I'm hoping to read at least 200 books by the end of the year. Think I can make it? Every month I pull 10-20 books to create a To Be Read pile with a mix of fiction and nonfiction, owned books and library books. I love reading and would spend all day doing it if I could. In fact, I'm planning on taking at least one book with me tomorrow when I leave for my big weekend retreat. I'm going to be by myself for almost 24 hours before everyone else arrives and I plan on reading for at least 1/3 of that time.
September's TBR pile:
While I'll be taking a bit of a break from crafting to move and unpack, I'm hoping to get back into it quickly. I need my crafting time! And hopefully I find some great crafty friends in Omaha! You can always find me at my blog
The Craft Sea where I post cards, random projects, and snippets of life. Psst: I also have a personal blog on there if you want to see what I think about the books I've read and even more about my life.
